Virgin East Coast unveils refurbished trains
Virgin Trains has unveiled the first of its newly refurbished trains as part of a £40 million project to “improve the customer experience”.
All of Virgin’s trains on its east coast route are being refurbished with £21 million being spent on new interiors, including adding leather seats to First Class and new carpets and fittings throughout.
Virgin said that since taking over the east coast mainline in March last year, it has invested millions of pounds including £16 million in new diesel engines and the re-branding of the exterior of the trains.
